Monday:

1st Final: English

Kinds of Sentences Commas Nouns Verbs
Simple Common Action
Compound Proper Linking
Complex

Outsiders, remember the characters, the general plot and the climax. Use especially the book. Go through the greek myths book, you can double up on History at the same time.
Biographys and Autobiographys. Remember the differences, such as the Point of View, and the others. REMEMBER THE IMPORTANT BITS: Hook, conflict, pov, chronological order. We did the writing workshop, with the writing process. Remember especially the steps in the writing process, and some forms of prewriting (i.e. Brainstorming, drawing, etc.)


2nd Final: Science

Chapters 1-8, all of the ones used for Powerpoints.
Use old tests, esp. older ones. Remember, 25 essay questions.
Bring lab book, will need your rock and minerals labs.
1 Nature of Science, i.e. importance of, or basic guidelines.
2 Matter, states of matter, atoms, etc.
3 Minerals, unique characteristics. Remember the 20!
4 Rocks, what they are, how they differ from minerals. Remember the 40!
5 Energy + mineral resources, fossil fuels, different types of energy, resources, ores, etc.
6 Views of Earth, maps, etc. Different kinds, remember time zones, and meridians.
7 Weathering + soil, make up of soil, how it forms, remember the horizons.
12 Volcanoes, remember the different kinds. How they form, and where.
13 Clues to Earth’s past. Fossils, how they form, and dating, i.e. half lives, alpha/beta decay.
14 Geologic time, the Eras, trilobites, different forms of life throughout.
20 Our impact on land, including pollution, overpopulation etc.
21 Our impact on water and air. Pollutions, including CFC, smog, sewage, trash, burning thereof.






Tuesday:

1st Final: Spanish

I don’t know what the other levels are covering, so you’re on your own here.

2nd Final: History

Tip: Take out all blank paper from your binder, and bring it home. Read through everything, or at least your outlines.

Maps, there are two.
Minotaur story.
Odyesseus, Illiad, etc. handouts.
Minoans, Mycenaens.
Reading essentials, should study. Take home.
Gods, Titans, major ones, minor myths and heros.
Polis’s: Rise of, major ones (Athens, Sparta, Thebes, Corinth) – esp. way of life, and different forms of government.
Wars: the Persian Wars, first (One with Marathon), and the second (One with Thermopolaye, Salamis, and Platea.
The result of the above, and the Golden Age of Athens.
Peloponnesian war. Where won, why (Hellespont, Sparta got a stronger army).
Alexander’s conquests, the huge packet should be awesome for this.
Read over your outlines.





Study Guide for Wednesday’s Final

You Should Know How To:

Simplify algebraic expressions.
Solve basic equations, with variables and whole numbers. They will be one or two step equations.
Discern primes and “regular” or non primes.
Put numbers into Scientific Notation, small and large numbers
Create factor trees, and how to find the prime factorization of a number.
Find LCM’s and GCF’s.
Add, subtract, divide, and multiply fractions.
Convert fractions to decimals.
Simplify, and or change repeating decimals into fractions.
Simplify, or solve exponents.


You should know:
The division rules for 2,3,4,5,6,8,9,10
